[전남=NSP통신] 김연화 기자 = In september 2009, the exposition plan was confirmed after member's of city council and citizens of Suncheon put a frantic effort to bring the International Garden Exposition Suncheon bay.

With 150 years of history, the international garden exposition has been held in 2 cities of asia, in Japan Osaka exposition 1990 and China Kunming exposition 1999.

The behind factor of open the International Garden Exposition Suncheon bay is for the preservation of Suncheon bay which is designated as one of the five world wetland by Ramsar.

There has been a raised question for how to prevent environmental pollution caused by 3 million of visitors each year in Suncheon bay.

The ecosystem will be preserved with eco-friendly personal rapid transit. Moreover some of facilities in Suncheon bay will be moved to the exposition venue which is placed more than 5km distance from Suncheon bay.

'International Garden Exposition Suncheon bay 2013' will be constructed about 1.11million square meter in Pungduk-dong and Ohchoen-dong under the theme of the garden of the earth, Suncheon bay.

This exposition venue will be the eco-belt of Suncheon bay against for the expansion of urban area.

This is the main exhibition hall where a variety of gardens will be arranged.

There will be international gardners made by ten countries such as America and France.

In addition, there will be about 70 unique gardens made by international gardners in Suncheon Bay Windy Hill and The Garden Of Fantasy.

Furthermore, there will be an oriental medicial herb garden where people can experience a lot of medical herb's effect.

This is Suncheon Bay Dream Bridge linking the main venue to international wetland center.

Ickjoung-Kang, who designed Korean pavillion in Shanghai Expo, make a design for the exterior of building.

In the dream bridge, there will be exhibition of around 160 thousand children's painting which painted their dream, and will be installed the world longest roof as well.

Across of the dream bridge is international wetland center.

International wetland center is most gigantic energy saving type of building. When you look at this in front side, it might not look like anything special, but the back side looks like the shape of hill.

International wetland center will hold exhibition which is full of living things. This center is expected to be a place for ecology experience.

The arboretum will be placed in front of International wetland center. In the arboretum, you can view the whole exposition venue and also can enjoy the beautiful Korean traditional garden.

Famous Korean people such as soprano Su-mi Jo and football player Sung-yong Ki were nominated as honorary ambassador for the International Garden Exposition Suncheon bay 2013.

International Garden Exposition Suncheon bay 2013 is presenting the paradigm focusing on the eco-system related to a successful model of city and extending city parks.
