(Seoul=NSP News Agency) soon ki Lee Journalist = LG Display will participate for the first time in the Korea Railways & Logistics Fair 2021, which will be held in BEXCO, Busan from the 16th to the 19th, and introduce transparent OLED panels for railways.

The 55-inch transparent OLED panel with 40% transparency, which was unveiled this time, is a railroad-specialized product that can replace windows in rooms. It is characterized by stronger resistance to shock and vibration compared to existing panels by applying special tempered glass to be suitable for trains running at high speed.

When transparent OLED is applied, it is expected to be highly utilized not only in subways, high-speed trains but also in tourist trains, as it is possible to provide various operation information, advertisements, and entertainment contents while viewing the outside scenery.

Previously, LG Display has supplied transparent OLED panels to subways in Beijing, Shenzhen, and Fuzhou, China since last year, and plans to expand its business to Asia, Europe, and North America, as well as South Korean markets.

Transparent OLED is thin and light with high transparency because pixels emit light without backlight, enabling various designs to be implemented. Currently, LG Display is the only company that can mass-produce large transparent OLEDs.
