(Seoul=NSP News Agency) soon ki Lee Journalist = Samsung Electronics mass-produced ‘Business PC SSD’ based on 6th generation (1xx stage) 256Gb (gigabit) 3-bit VNAND, which has overcome the minimization of semiconductor process for the first time in the world, and supplied it to global PC manufacturers.

By making this product with a single process (1 Etching Step) that punches cells with more than 100 stages at one time, and improving the characteristics of ‘speed, productivity and power saving’, the best product competitiveness ever has been secured.

Starting with mass production of 250GB SATA PC SSD for business, Samsung Electronics will continue to launch the products of various capacities and specifications such as 512Gb 3-bit VNAND-based SSD and eUFS in the second half of this year to meet the growing demand of global customers.

Kyung Gyehyeon, vice president of solution development division of Samsung Electronics Memory Division, said, “By securing the ultra-high level of 3D memory mass-production technology, which is ahead of the second generation, the memory line-up whose speed and power efficiency are enhanced further came to be released in a timely fashion,” and “by further advancing the development schedule for the next-generation line-up, we will expand the market of ultra-high-speed, ultra -high-capacity SSDs.”
