(Seoul=NSP News Agency) soon ki Lee Journalist = The Financial Services Commission will approve up to two Internet-only banks next year. Through this, new Internet banks will be launched in 2020.
With this new license, competition between Internet-only banks, including Kakao Bank and K Bank, which are already operating, is expected to become more intense.
The Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service think that the competition among existing banks is low in the case of household loans in the banking sectors, and will sanction the bank to focus on household loan business.
The Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service said, “We will plan to authorize a third Internet bank following Kakao Bank and K Bank in June next year.”
The Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service will hold a briefing session in January next year by opening the authorization manual-related Q & A page on the 26th.
Next, the application of preliminary authorization will be received in March next year and two preliminary licensed companies will be selected and announced within May next year.
