(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = Hyundai Elevator has officially launched a service that delivers drinks and snacks sold at the cafe on the first floor of its Chungju headquarters via robots.
The service allows users to order desired products using a dedicated app installed on their mobile phones, and robots deliver them to each individual’s desk in each office on each floor.
The limitation of robot delivery, which was limited to horizontal movement, has been expanded to vertical movement by using elevators. The new robot delivery service can carry up to two orders and 20 drinks at the same time.
Hyundai Elevator plans to commercialize the service in earnest with its advanced elevator-robot interlocking technology. More than 40 delivery robots are already in service at various hospitals, hotels, and banks using Hyundai Elevator.
An official from Hyundai Elevator said, “In order to expand the limits of robot delivery from horizontal movement to vertical movement, interlocking with elevators is essential.” “Hyundai Elevator's elevator-robot interlocking technology has already reached the commercialization stage, so we will provide a higher level of service.”
