(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = Nongshim is set to establish its European subsidiary,"Nongshim Europe B.V.", in Amsterdam, Netherlands, this coming March. The company’s decision to expand into Europe is driven by the region's growing market and diverse consumer preferences.
As of 2023, the European instant noodle market is valued at approximately $2 billion, having experienced an average annual growth rate of 12% over the past five years (2019-2023). This rapid expansion highlights the increasing demand for instant noodles across the region.
Over the same period, the company’s European sales grew by an average of 25% per year, reflecting a surge in consumer interest and purchases. In particular, sales in 2024 increased by approximately 40% compared to the previous year, emphasizing the need for a dedicated subsidiary to manage and expand its market presence.
The European instant noodle market is highly diverse, with different brands leading in different countries, indicating a wide range of taste preferences among consumers.
A Nongshim representative stated, “Our flagship products, including Shin Ramyun and Shin Ramyun Toomba, along with our diverse range of flavors, will be highly effective in penetrating the European market.” The company aims to implement a dual-track strategy by expanding the distribution of its key products while developing new offerings tailored to local food cultures. Through this approach, Nongshim targets $300 million in European sales by 2030.
