(Seoul=NSP News Agency) jonghyuk Kim Journalist = A citizen-leading large scale shopping event named 'K-Sale Day' was held for 26 days from 20 Nov. to 15 Dec.
102 businesses (41,000 shops), 500 traditional markets and 371 small and medium-sized companies took place in this K-Sale Day.
The sales of main businesses such as department store, mall, electronic shop and convenience store, in 13 days, from 20 Nov. increased 8.4% (513.3 billion won) from same time last year. The government provided opportunities for 371 small and medium-sized businesses, like traditional markets and small distribution companies, to take part in 'high quality goods of small and medium-sized company discount fair' held in 5 places.

500 traditional market took part in this event caused by the expansion support of the government. Interim result shows positive effect that sales of 80% of markets increased more than 10%.
It has a plan to prepare a private and public joint large scale shopping event regularly from next year through a comprehensive evaluation of government-leading 'Korea Black Friday' and citizen-leading 'K-Sale Day'.
