(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = LG Electronics has unveiled a new artificial intelligence (AI) technology that drastically reduces the time required to predict the quality of finished products—by up to 99% compared to previous methods.

The company anticipates that this advancement will significantly shorten development timelines by minimizing the repeated verification steps traditionally required in product development, while also enhancing overall production efficiency.

Previously, it took approximately 3 to 8 hours to assess product quality before prototype production could begin. With LG’s newly developed AI solution, predictions can now be made in under three minutes—without the need for separate simulations.

The technology also enhances convenience for developers. By simply inputting 3D blueprint data, the system automatically aligns coordinate data with high precision, delivering fast and accurate quality predictions without the need for additional processes.

To make the technology more accessible, LG plans to launch a web-based service platform called Eng.AI (Engineering AI), allowing developers to seamlessly integrate the solution into their workflow.

Initially, LG Electronics will utilize the AI system internally to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities. The technology will be progressively applied to the design of components used in refrigerators, washing machines, TVs, and automotive electronics.

Looking forward, LG aims to expand its AI manufacturing technology beyond the home appliance sector to industries such as semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. The company plans to grow its smart factory solutions into a multi-trillion won business by 2030 through external sales and partnerships.
