(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = Hanwha Systems won two contracts in succession for low-altitude anti-drone system projects to prevent attack drones.

To counter the threat of illegal drones and small unmanned aerial vehicles infiltrating critical areas, Hanwha Systems will build a mobile, multi-layer, multi-protection anti-drone system that can be subdivided by facility type and distance to strike with soft kill(jamming) and hard kill(net capture and laser).

On the 21st, Hanwha Systems signed a contract with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration for the critical area drone integration system project worth approximately 30 billion won.

The critical area drone integration system is our military’s first facility-type drone protection system to be fully operational. It is designed to defend against drone attacks targeting major facilities of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, such as air force bases and naval ports. It detects and identifies small unmanned aircraft infiltrating the airspace and then renders them inoperable through jamming.

Hanwha Systems installs and operates an integrated anti-drone system that enables targeted drone neutralization, consisting of ▲detection radar ▲electro-optical(EO) and infrared(IR) thermal imaging equipment for identifying and tracking illegal drones ▲jammer for target neutralization ▲ and an integrated console(operation device).

It is specialized in facility protection and is expected to be deployed in major national infrastructures such as nuclear power plants, airports, and data centers in the future.

Meanwhile, on the 21st, Hanwha Systems also signed a contract with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration for a multi-layer complex protection system for drone response, a rapid pilot acquisition project.
