(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = VUNO, a medical AI company, has announced that the patent of its core technology,"Method and Device for Supporting Fundus Image Interpretation for Blood Samples,"which is essential for healthcare professionals to interpret AI-based fundus image, will be registered in the United States.

This newly patented technology is related to VUNO's AI-based fundus image interpretation assistant solution called VUNO Med-Fundus AI. The technology has already been patented in South Korea and Japan as well.

The VUNO's technology has been developed to provide convenience in AI-based fundus image interpretation in consideration of the anatomical characteristics of the fundus, which refers to the posterior part of eyes. The technology automatically detects the central positions of the macula lutea and optic disc from fundus images and outputs diagnostic information from segmented areas around the detected positions.

With consecutive patent registrations in the United States, VUNO is taking the lead in patenting AI technology in the local medical industry. Previously, VUNO also received patent registrations in the United States for technologies required for AI-based medical image analysis and cardiac arrest predictive technology.
