(서울=NSP통신) hYUNJIN KIM Journali = Krafton decided to acquire an American game developer, Unknown Worlds and 100% of its stake.

The company chose the promising game developer as the first acquisition target after IPO in August. The merge will offer Krafton brand-new types of games, intellectual properties, and superior game developers.

The acquisition was worth 585.8 billion won (100 million US dollars), the largest acquisition since the company’s public offering. According to Unknown World’s future performance, the company may additionally pay up to 292.9 billion won (250 million US dollars) worth of earn-out payments.

Unknown Worlds become Krafton’s sixth independent gaming studio, developing PC and console games. Its executives and internal structure will remain the same after the acquisition.

Unknown Worlds was co-founded by Charlie Cleveland and Max McGuire in the United States in 2001.
