(서울=NSP통신) hYUNJIN KIM Journali = Seoul Semiconductor announced a lawsuit against Ace Hardware, a distributor of the U.S. lights firm Feit Electric and sells filament bulbs, for 16 LED technology patents infringements despite repeated requests to stop on the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas as of 12 October.

The complaint said, “Feit Electrics’ lights are born based on infringements of Seoul Semiconductor’s 16 patents regarding each step of essential production processes for LED products.”

The technologies in question are the next generation LED technologies developed by the plaintiff from 1 trillion or more won on R&D investment. The 16 innovative technologies are related to epitaxy, chips, packages, modules, lenses, and drivers, such as ▲ high CRI achievements ▲ high-voltage driver ▲ light diffusion lens ▲ multi-chip mounting ▲ quality light extraction ▲ reliability improvement technologies.

Seoul Semiconductor already won several lawsuits in Europe and North Americas, which led to bans on sales of filament LED bulbs.
