(Seoul=NSP News Agency) YEON SUN HAN Journalist = LG Electronics starts building washing machine factory in Tennessee as planned.

At the end of last February, LG Electronics signed a contract with the state of Tennessee to build a washing machine factory with a floor area of 77,000 square meters in a land of 1,250,000 square meters, and announced that they will invest 250 million USD on the factory by the first quarter of 2019.

This is the first time LG Electronics build a home appliance eletronics factory in the United States.

This factory will produce both top-loads and front-load washing machines starting from the first quarter of 2019, and it is estimated to produce over 1 million units annually.

The number of employees to be hired after the completion will be over 600.
