(Seoul=NSP News Agency) jonghyuk Kim Journalist = The presidents of the commercial banks agreed that they are going to strengthen risk management for loan portfolio.
The president of the Bank of Korea, Juyeol Lee and the presidents of six commercial banks said “regarding upsurge in group lending result from favorable apartment lotting-out, each bank needs to strengthen prudent finance supervision.” in the financial conference held in the meeting room of the Bank of Korea on 20 Nov.
They predicted that domestic banks will face challenges such as keeping uncertainty of international financial market, enforcing Basel 3 regulation and spreading Fin-Tech.
And they measured that the corporate restructuring in progress might be a factor to increase uncertainty in the short term, however that restructuring is bearable for the banks, so the effect will not be so critical. The agreed, meanwhile, it will contribute to expanding potential of domestic economic growth in the long term.
The presidents of 6 banks - KEB Hana Bank, Kookmin Bank, Woori Bank, Shinahan Bank, IBK (Industrial Bank of Korea) and Standard Chartered Bank Korea have attended the conference.
