Last year, the number of TB patient in the world was 96 million.

The 3 main index of TB released this time all decreased from 2013.
The incidence of TB decreased from 97(of 1 million) in 2013 to 86 (of 1 million) by 11.3%,
TB prevalence decreased from 143 (of 1 million) in 2013 to 101(of 1 million) by 29.4% and TB death rate decreased from 5.2 (of 1 million) in 2013 to 3.8 (of 1million) by 26.9%.

Byong-kuk Yang, the director of the headquarters at KCDC, said “A state-led Plan to Stop Tuberculosis has been expended since 2011. And arranging ‘The first comprehensive management plan for TB(2013-2017)’, we thoroughly cared for TB patients and regularized the work for eliminating tuberculosis such as performing an TB epidemiologic investigation and strengthening TB voluntary report system”, added “It is so meaningful to reflect our achievement of managing TB until now.”
