(Seoul=NSP News Agency) Jiye Kim Journalist = On September 18, Samsung electronics started to receive the compensation application from workers suffered from cancers. This is for retired workers who had struggled with the leukemia and other diseases, after working at its semiconductor factories or LCD plants.

The compensation committee agreed to indemnify for 28 diseases listed on the original recommendation, except the cases of miscarriages and infertility.

In order to make fair and objective process, Samsung places a working-level subcommittee comprised of a certified labor attorney and a lawyer, who will review and evaluate the submitted applications.

The applications are accepted from September 18 to December 31, through phone call, internet, email as well as regular postal service.
